It for Sure Feels like Monday

Talking about Monday! Yes, yes, yes… I know it isn’t really Monday, it’s very much Tuesday, January 2, 2018, but it sure felt like a true Monday this morning. I would have preferred to sleep a tad longer, and unlike myself I did hit the snooze button on my phone once before kicking my own rear end outta bed.

Somehow, I managed to make myself a cuppa coffee, only because we have a Keurig, and it’ll make your coffee even if you’re half asleep. I sat down at my computer only to realize the internet wasn’t working. Great! So there I was, at 6 AM problem solving stuff that I’d really rather not. I had been planning on getting some work done, pulling stats and sending a couple of emails, but clearly not. Instead I was crawling on our living room floor rebooting everything I came across. Thanks to my personal hot spot and an elaborate data plan, I did get the emails out prior to the next events of my morning.

Little bit before 7 AM, my Amazon Fresh order arrives… Ha! I planned ahead!!! Awesome. Thank goodness for Amazon. They even sent me a text last night asking if I wanted to add something to my delivery. However, when I opened my stuff, I realized my packing person was probably tired of packing by the time my turn came, and had chosen to throw the yogurts in the bag. Yes, in the perfect world they would have been packed so that the lids would have been all upright but that wasn’t my problem. I can live with shaken yogurts, but what I couldn’t live with, was all the punctured lids and the mess that I had in front of me. So, planning ahead didn’t really work as I ended up doing yogurt dishes aka washing all the yogurts that had not been broken as everything was covered in yogurt from the cans with the broken lids. Click, click, click. Refund issued, and feedback provided, however I could have used a free yoghurt can washer person with my order.

Upstairs I found three children that had literally to be shaken out of their beds. Three grumpy garden gnomes that had at least three left feet and were completely unable to do anything. I do have a feeling that I wasn’t alone with this one tough. First morning of school after mid-winter break is quite likely an universal problem for every parent across the world. Well first world at least.

Finally, I have the house for myself. I put that coffee in the microwave, turn my work playlist on and sit down. It’s the second day of the new year. Let’s make this a good one!
