On Friday morning, I sit at my desk enjoying the view of my
beautiful living room sipping coffee and trying desperately to focus as emails
keep popping up on my screen, the phone ringing, and my mind wandering off to
things other than work. The boys are enjoying their last day of Lego camp,
Mia’s reading Harry Potter on the couch and Martha’s under my desk keeping my
toes warm. It’s going to be a desk day at my home office. I’ll be checking new
listings for clients, writing emails, blogging and reviewing my plans for next
week as he is traveling and I’ll be juggling work with three rugrats. I keep
looking out of the window as I hear the trails calling my name, and I’m tempted
to hop in my trail sneakers and go eat some huckleberries with Martha, maybe
later.
The Emma e-flyer that I created for my open house on Sunday
was sent out this morning and shared to Facebook, paper flyers were printed on
Wednesday, so everything is in order with the exception of the open house
binder that I always have with me. The one with other similar listings in the
area, information on schools and commute times and the home itself. Making the
binder is few minute thing that I’ll do on Sunday morning before I hop in the
car with my A-boards. If you know someone who’s looking, or you just wanna come
and say “hi” to me, I’ll be on Union Hill in Redmond on Sunday from 1 to 4pm.
(5039 236th Ave NE, Redmond 98053 MLS#: 1151946 $799,000). I believe the home
is within Alcott Elementary boundary, but with the boundaries being redrawn again,
I’m not absolutely positive.
It’s been a busy week filled with tours with clients,
working on finding potential properties within multiple listing service for several families,
running around my own neighborhood hanging business cards on everyone’s door –
yes, soliciting without actually knocking on anyone’s door, but yet running
into several of my neighbors, talking real estate market and neighborhood stuff
and discovering that it’s surprisingly hard work to write 56 notes. Yet, I have also met friends at the beach and
the pool, had dinner with my supper club girls, drinks with a co-worker as well
as hosted and arranged playdates for my kiddos. I have scheduled ortho
appointments with several different offices, been on search for swimming
lessons and found some. I have also watched my 7-year-old finally learn to ride
his bike.
It’s been a good week. It’s been a great week. More weeks
like this, please! Everything that I felt left out of, when working that steady
office job, I have been able to accomplish this summer. It does feel incredibly
awesome!
