It was supposed to be zero to three inches and on Sunday
night when it was time to hit the bed, I told my kids I didn’t believe the snow
that was gently falling would stick, at the very worst we may have a delayed start
in the morning. Little did I know… as we woke up into Monday morning the world
was covered in white. Six, seven, eight, nine inches depending on whom was
measuring and where. Schools were closed, work places were closed, and I was
taking a deeper look into my planner over my coffee. An hour later I had canceled
every single one of my appointments and meetings, not that I would have had
anyone to meet with if I had braved my way out of the house.
I’ll have to admit that Monday was fun. We played in the
snow and went for a long walk to our nearby Starbucks. I called ahead of time
to make sure it didn’t bribe my offspring with hot chocolate and cake pops for
nothing. We watched a Harry Potter movie together and certainly made the most of
our sudden freedom.
Tuesday was okay. I had a way busier day planned but one by
one everything got canceled by Monday night and when school announced another
snow day, I really wasn’t surprised. It was sort of a rinse and repeat from
Monday with being outside and watching movies, except for going sledding
instead of walking for hot chocolate. I sat at my computer for a few hours
working and hubs was sitting at his laptop working the day away. I told the
kids to get bored when they asked for their iPads, I even cited an article on
the importance of being bored. They were not convinced to put it nicely.
But today. Today is Wednesday and I had a super exciting
event in Bellevue this morning and I couldn’t get there. All roads leading down
from our hill were at a standstill and no one was moving anywhere, and to my
huge disappointment I had to turn the big green truck around and return home. Instead
of watching our new brand image being launched at Bellevue Hilton, I took my
filming equipment and went outside to film a new video to post on my YouTube
channel. I walked my kids to school and returned to my computer with a cup of
coffee working on emails, listings and marketing stuff. It was a nice, slow day
but I really did want to be somewhere else.
They say there’ll be more snow on Friday. I’m done with snow
for now. I have a busy weekend scheduled with several clients, looking at homes
from Auburn to Marysville. I don’t want to be stuck at home and go sledding.
Please, no more snow.
